Pay Range (depending on experience): $38.16 - $54.71
Job Summary:
Provides respiratory services within the scope of practice under a physician's order, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation of adult/geriatric patients. Plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of therapy and communicates with the provider and members of the interdisciplinary care team. Delivers quality patient-centered care and supports the mission, vision, and values of Summit Pacific.

This is a PRN night position.
Work shift:
TECH Contract 10 hour shifts in a 40 hour work week. Working location:
Elma, Washington.
- Responsible for the expedient care and compassionate treatment of each patient; assesses and interprets evaluations and test results, determines respiratory therapy treatment plans, and administers medically prescribed respiratory therapy in consultation with providers. Conducts pulmonary function tests including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation of adult/geriatric patients.
- Restore patient’s pulmonary function, alleviate pain, and support life by planning and administering medically prescribed respiratory therapy.
- Assist patients in accomplishing treatment plans by administering inhalants, operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments by performing bronchopulmonary drainage, assisting with breathing exercises, and monitoring physiological responses to therapy (vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes).
- Evaluate effects of respiratory therapy treatment plans by observing, noting, and evaluating patient progress and recommending adjustments.
- Direct treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
- Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly; inspect and test respiratory therapy equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Participate in discharge planning by contributing to patient care conferences and ensuring continuation of therapeutic plans after discharge; design home exercise programs and instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommend and/or provide assistive equipment and outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
- Assist with writing departmental policies and procedures, protocol implementation, and workflow coordination within the interdisciplinary care team; develop respiratory therapy services at Summit Pacific by providing information and conducting in-service training programs.

Required Education And Experience
- Associate degree from a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Two years of directly related experience in an acute care setting.
- Current, unrestricted Washington State Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
- NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required upon hire;
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required within one year of hire. - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within six months of hire.
