Description:
CLOSING DATE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED (WITH BI-WEEKLY REVIEWS).
POSITION: Case Manager (3 positions).
SALARY: $24.03 - 32.74, per hour DOE.
REPORTS TO: Child Support Enforcement Manager.
LOCATION: Child Support;
Nespelem, Washington.
The Case Manager is responsible for maintaining child support caseloads and acting as an advocate in the Colville Confederated Tribes Child Support Administrative proceedings. The Case Manager will assist Colville Tribal members in ensuring fair and just child support orders are entered in Tribal Court. Additionally, the Case Manager is responsible for carrying out the court orders and complying with enforcement protocols as it relates to collections.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Typically requires an Associate's Degree, plus 2 years related work experience.
- Requires a valid driver's license and be eligible for the Colville Tribal vehicle insurance program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires specialized knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures associated with child support management in public service and tribal business.
- Requires a working knowledge of the child support laws of the State of Washington, by reviewing and evaluating on a daily basis an assigned caseload of TANF, non-TANF, foster care and Interstate Support Enforcement cases.
- Requires special skills with independently negotiating and/or interviewing custodial/absent parent, attorneys, and employers regarding their accounts and verifying the accuracy of financial and informational data.
- Requires special skills in reviewing and interpreting administrative support court orders as they relate to paternity, children custody.
- Requires knowledge of and ability to be sensitive to Native American culture and lifestyle.
- Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with the public, co-workers and various Tribal, State, and Federal Programs.
- Requires the ability to comply with Federal and State audit requirements in properly identifying and locating responsible parent for debt establishment and collection.
- Requires the ability to conduct research and evaluate pertinent legal authority, court decisions, and other precedents of parent(s).
- Requires ability to work under stressful situations and handle conflicts, complaints, and other problems in a professional and courteous manner.
- Requires ability to demonstrate strict confidentiality.
- Requires ability to adhere to professional and ethical codes of conduct and agree to standards of healthy lifestyle that includes abstaining from alcohol and non-prescribed chemicals throughout the duration of employment.
- Requires the ability to gather and analyze data and develop conclusions and recommendations.
- Requires ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work processes in a high volume environment in order to meet schedules and timelines.
- Requires ability to communicate technical information and to interact with a wide variety of groups and individuals inside and outside the organization.
