Location: Shaw Island
Duties
* Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Fifteenth Air Force Commander's Staff, develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and 15th Air Force objectives.
* Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors.
* Represents 15th Air Force to a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationship with all 15 Air Force Directorates, Wings, DOD, Joint staff, Headquarters Air Force, MAJCOMs, NAFs, Service component commands, and Service components, Distinguished Visitors of Partner Nations and other U.S. Federal agencies.
* Directs and tasks the Fifteenth Air Force Staff on behalf of the 15th Air Force Commander and Deputy Commander. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance

* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
* Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
* May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays and may be subject to recall
* The duties of this position meet all requirements as a category 4 designation, shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent FED agency or office to function effectively.
* This is a Key Position. The position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and cannot become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DODD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve,")
* This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
* A one (1) year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
* This is a centrally managed position. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-14, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) Formulating program goals, plans, policies, and procedures dealing with the development and operation of organization-wide functions and activities; (2) Collaborating with other managers and appropriate personnel to negotiate, decide on, coordinate, and/or integrate operations and the interests of other organizations;
(3) Providing technical advice and information required to make executive decisions relating to staff operations management. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
