The Point Casino and Hotel is seeking an AV Technician to join our technology team, where you'll set up, operate, and maintain audio-visual equipment in various settings, ensuring high-quality sound and visual experiences for events, productions, and other functions requiring sound and visual technology.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe of Indians–State of Washington Gaming Compact, NIGC regulations, internal controls, and casino policies.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment, including microphones, speakers, projectors, video monitors, soundboards, lighting controllers, video switchers, and cabling.
- Provide AV support for live events, meetings, and performances, working with organizers and performers to meet technical requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance, testing, and cleaning of AV equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
- Collaborate with IT team members to troubleshoot issues, maintain systems, and support users.
- Communicate clearly with casino departments and vendors regarding technical needs, issues, and resolutions.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports.
- Assist with inventory management and timely reordering of AV and IT supplies.
- Deliver excellent customer service and ensure a high level of satisfaction across the property.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of knowledge of electrical, computer, and networking systems is beneficial.
- Proficiency with a wide range of AV equipment and technology platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills to manage unexpected technical difficulties during live events.
- Must be able to obtain a Class III gaming license issued by the Washington State Gaming Commission
and Port Gamble S'Klallam Gaming Commission.
Ability to lift and transport AV equipment (up to 50 lbs regularly, 75 lbs with assistance), stand and walk for extended periods, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform frequent bending, kneeling, and overhead reaching; requires adequate vision, color recognition, and hearing to operate and troubleshoot AV systems in varied lighting and noise conditions.
Work Environment & Safety:Comfortable working long and irregular hours in a casino environment with crowds, flashing lights, noise, secondhand smoke, and temperature changes; able to safely work around electrical equipment, follow safety protocols, and respond quickly to equipment issues or emergencies.
