Position: MECHANICAL ENGINEER with Security Clearance
Location: Bangor

Duties Help
* You will develop, schedule, and direct projects that are critical to the long-term mission of the organization in the area of weight handling equipment.
* You will evaluate and recommend weight handling equipment alternatives relative to the organization's operations and equipment needs.
* You will provide specialized technical expertise to the weight handling equipment maintenance shops for the resolution of equipment problems.
* You will provide specialized consultation to the weight handling equipment test and inspection group regarding test procedures, documentation requirements, and interpretation of program instructions.
* You will serve as senior engineer planning, coordinating, and directing projects which involve several engineering disciplines. Requirements Help Conditions of employment

* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This is a bargaining unit position.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of professional specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer providing technical direction and oversight by planning and coordinating mechanical engineering projects to support the successful procurement and upgrade of weight handling equipment.
