Senior Buyer

A Leading Utilities Contractor is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team based from any regional office across England.

The main objective of the role is to develop and implement procurement strategies for national energy projects.

You will:

• Lead strategic procurement activities across a portfolio of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support subcontract procurement activities, working closely with commercial teams.
• Support with supply chain and category management initiatives across the supply chain.
• Deliver the procurement requirements of site teams.
• Deliver cost savings and project delivery improvements across assigned projects.

You will be joining a market leader who has achieved incredible growth over the past few years, and they have a clear strategy to triple their turnover in the next 3 years. This level of growth will present career progression opportunities for those who want it and perform.

You will be joining the procurement function at a great time, the new Head of Group Procurement has been in post for 1 year and is now managing a large functional transformation implementing many new strategic procurement initiatives, compliance standards and new systems.

Portfolio of energy projects involving a combination of civil engineering and electrical works, as well as balance of plant installations.

Our client provides solutions across private networks, renewable energy, battery energy storage solutions (BESS), data centres, HVDC, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Working on numerous live projects with a £2bn+ secured pipeline of work over the next 3 years.

Our client is looking for Senior Buyers looking for a career move. They are also keen to speak with experienced Buyers looking for career progression.

You will have 3+ years experience delivering strategic procurement across infrastructure projects for any main contractor or large subcontractor.

Ideally you will have some experience of delivering subcontract procurement, however this is not essential and training will be provided.
