Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries.
We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.

Position Description

Sales Engineers are at the front-end of Janicki’s projects; working with established Customers, or building relationships with new Customers, to capture business and grow our project base. You will be a part of a team focused on some of the largest and most complex composite & metallic aerospace products in industry. Working across multiple disciplines to review Customer requirements, prepare cost estimates, and author technical proposals;

the Sales Engineer manages all these efforts and must work well under strict timelines. The following essential job functions are performed as a Sales Engineer:

  • Creation and submittal of technical proposals and interfacing with Customers during life of contracts; including managing change-orders and scope increases, requirements/terms applicability, and pricing negotiations
  • Performs difficult and complex aerospace manufacturing estimating activities often with minimal information
  • Analyzes 3D geometry, drawings, specifications, RFQ’s, Statements of Work
  • Provides initial risk assessment for both cost and schedule, and reviews these risk factors with management before submitting proposals
  • Reviews proposals and work estimates with Program Management, Design, Operations, and Engineering to determine material, labor and equipment requirements
  • Analyzes completed project costs and ‘to-date’ actuals to support current sales bid efforts, including cost-calculators and developing templates for future estimating
  • Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard time and cost data
  • Maintains and expands customer sales pipeline database by maintaining the current price quoted, including price revisions to support revenue forecasting
  • As required, visits customers and attends trade shows representing Janicki Industries
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors, and customers
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or have Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
Education/Experience
  • 1+ years of experience as a JI Project Manager or PE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) required
  • Active Secret level clearance
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and understanding of cost/schedule estimating principals
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Experience with aerospace processes and industry terminologies.
  • Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning Software
  • Experience with 3D CAD Software (CATIA, NX Unigraphics, etc.)
  • Experience evaluating technical drawings and basic GD&T knowledge
  • Experience creating large excel workbooks used for preparing and presenting sales proposals to internal and external customers
  • Experience being involved in projects from bid to delivery and support of customers
Additional Information
  • Salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $145,000
