Monday - Thursday: 9:00 a.m.
- 4:00 p.m. (includes one 15-minute paid break and one 30-minute unpaid meal break)
Friday: 9:00 a.m.
- 2:00 p.m. (includes one 15-minute paid break)
Weekly working hours: 31
Wage: $28.36 - $32.88 per hour (2025-26 PSE Salary Schedule)

Position SummaryUnder the direction of a certificated teacher, the Para educator IV - Behavioral Program Assistant provides specialized instructional support for students with behavioral challenges requiring a high degree of positive contact with students in a variety of learning environments both on and off campus. The Para educator IV - Behavioral Program Assistant will frequently assist with implementation of behavior intervention plans and will receive direct supervision within a framework of defined policies and procedures.

- At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Have received a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Para educator Board ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
- Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university.
- Have completed an apprenticeship as a para educator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.
- A copy of a high school diploma or high school transcripts, or acceptable equivalent document.
- Official post secondary transcript(s).

This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance provided the assignment is anticipated to work at least 630 hours per year. - Retirement Plans:
This position is eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan. - Paid Holidays:
This position is eligible for up to 13 paid holidays per year. The number of holidays depends on employee’s start and end dates.
Paid Time Off:
Employees working 12 months per year earn 12 days of paid vacation per school year. Employees working 237-260 days per school year earn 12 days of sick leave. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation, sick leave, and personal leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date.

Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
