- 4:00 p.m. (includes one 15-minute paid break and one 30-minute unpaid meal break)
Friday: 9:00 a.m.

- 2:00 p.m. (includes one 15-minute paid break)
Weekly working hours: 31
Wage: $28.36 - $32.88 per hour (2025-26 PSE Salary Schedule)

Under the direction of a certificated teacher, the Para educator IV - Behavioral Program Assistant provides specialized instructional support for students with behavioral challenges requiring a high degree of positive contact with students in a variety of learning environments both on and off campus. The Para educator IV - Behavioral Program Assistant will frequently assist with implementation of behavior intervention plans and will receive direct supervision within a framework of defined policies and procedures.

• At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Have received a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Para educator Board ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university.
• Have completed an apprenticeship as a para educator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.

• A copy of a high school diploma or high school transcripts, or acceptable equivalent document.
• Official post secondary transcript(s).

• Insurance:
  This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance provided the assignment is anticipated to work at least 630 hours per year.
• Retirement Plans:
  This position is eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
• Paid Holidays:
  This position is eligible for up to 13 paid holidays per year. The number of holidays depends on employee’s start and end dates.

Paid Time Off:
Employees working 12 months per year earn 12 days of paid vacation per school year. Employees working 237-260 days per school year earn 12 days of sick leave. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation, sick leave, and personal leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date.
