Kindergarten Teacher Leave Replacement

Instructs kindergarten students and facilitates their learning in the absence of the regular teacher.

• Uses necessary and appropriate instructional methods and materials, suited to the well-being of students and the
  nature of the curriculum and learning activities; implements established program or curriculum objectives and/or
  follows lesson plans left by the regular teacher.
• Teach scheduled classes and manage classroom activities in the locations and times designated.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Provide individual or small group instruction when necessary.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies.
• Address and report any disciplinary issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure continuity of instruction.
• Engage in school meetings, professional development sessions, and training as required.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, and the community.
• Participate in school events and activities to support the school community.
• Prioritize students physical, emotional, and academic safety.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of school equipment and resources.
• Be prepared to take on various teaching assignments, sometimes with short notice.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Valid WA State Teaching Certificate or Substitute/Emergency Substitute Certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Prior experience working in an elementary school setting preferred
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications the Board may find appropriate
