OverviewThe Youth Sports Coordinator will assist with overall program development of our youth sports programming. This includes, but not limited to, instructing classes, officiating youth sports games, and providing on-site leadership during practices and games. The Youth Sports Coordinator will also provide guidance to youth sports instructors, referees and volunteers.

$22.00 - $24.20/hour DOE
Responsibilities- Assists in the delivery of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities for assigned youth sports programs.
- Assists in conducting staff meetings and trainings.
- Provides guidance, leadership and direction to youth sports instructors, referees and volunteers as needed.
- Professionally engages with parents/guardians to provide pertinent information about their child’s experience and to promote upcoming programs.
- Ensures that supplies are clean and safe, set up and stored properly. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.

Physical Demands- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. The employee frequently is required to sit reach and must be able to move around the work environment.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Position Type / HoursThis is a part-time variable role that predominantly supports programs that occur in the afternoons/evenings and weekends.
TravelTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Qualifications- 21 years of age or older.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Knowledge of sports.
- One or more years of experience working with children.
- Strong customer service skills, responding to multiple questions via phone, email and in person. Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict.
- Strong computer skills and experience working with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Knowledge of standard office equipment, such as fax machines, copiers, and phone systems.
- Current state approved first-aid certification.*
- Current state approved infant/child (or community if school aged) CPR certification.*
- At hire, or earliest possible training (but no later than 90 days after employment).
- Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical activity, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
