Scope / OverviewCamp Arnold seeks an Assistant for the Ignite Discipleship Program who will support the spiritual growth, social & emotional development, and skill building of young people assistant will partner with the Ignite Director to lead daily Bible studies, individual and group check‑ins, weekly debriefs, and provide additional support across the program.
General Duties- Uphold Camp Arnold policies and Protecting the Mission standards.
- Assist the Ignite Director in implementing the program curriculum.
- Attend program staff and general staff orientation.
- Participate in all Ignite‑specific programming.
- Participate in camp programs as required by the Summer Program Director.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Ignite Director.
- Collaborate with the Ignite Director to plan and execute meaningful discipleship activities.
- Lead orientation and ensure an engaging onboarding experience for all participants.
- Plan and lead the campout and hike to Mt. Rainier during orientation.
- Offer support in various program areas as required by the Summer Program Director.
- Build positive relationships with participants and provide mentorship in their faith journey.
- Create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for participants to deepen their faith.
- Assist in facilitating daily Bible studies and daily check‑ins.
- Assist in all‑staff small groups as needed.
- Lead weekly one‑on‑one debrief sessions.
- Create orientation and weekly schedules for Ignite participants.
- Communicate effectively with the camp program team and Ignite Director.
- Communicate important information to parents of participants.
- Facilitate phone conversations with parents regarding participant behavior when needed.
- Assist in creating agendas for Ignite parent information nights.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead.
- Ability to operate telephone, desktop, and laptop computers.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to understand written information.
