Overview

Serves as Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist in charge of the Materials Management function as well as the establishment and maintenance of inventory control systems to account for all equipment and supplies through their life-cycle. Oversees the delivery of other services including post office services, intra-agency deliveries, linen distribution, intra-agency office moves and transportation. Participates in the overall management of the Office to include the development, implementation, coordination, review, evaluation, and revision of long range plans, services, policies, and procedures.

Plans and supervises the sanitation maintenance services of the hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain inventory control systems for all equipment and supplies through their life-cycle.
  • Oversee delivery of services including post office services, intra-agency deliveries, linen distribution, intra-agency office moves, and transportation.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, coordination, review, evaluation, and revision of long-range plans, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Plan and supervise sanitation maintenance services of the hospital.
Qualifications
  • Candidate must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (MS-12). Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position that equips the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
  • Licensures, Certifications And Other Requirements: A Valid Driver’s License is desired.
  • Education:

    Must possess a high school diploma or a certificate of equivalency (GED).
  • Work Experience:

    Thorough knowledge and experience with inventory management; materials management; supplies; equipment; storage; disposal; disposition and automated records. Experience applying knowledge of sanitation policies and procedures in an inpatient facility.
Work Environment

Work is performed in a controlled environment and involves some exposure to moderate risk of accidents and requires following basic safety precautions.

Tour of Duty:
Monday through Friday
8:15 am to 4:45 pm

This position is designated as Essential. As an Essential employee, you will be required to report to work or stay at work during a declared emergency.

  • Position Designation:
    This position is deemed as “Safety Sensitive” pursuant to Section 410 of Chapter 4 of the D.C. Personnel Regulations. Individuals applying for or occupying safety-sensitive positions are subject to the following checks and tests:

Duration of Appointment: Management Supervisory Services (At-Will). This includes the statement that all MSS positions are at the pleasure of the appointing authority and may be terminated at any time without cause.

Residency Preference
A person applying for a position who is a bona fide District resident at the time of application may be awarded a 10-point residency preference over non-District applicants, unless the person declines the preference points. Proof of bona fide District residency must be presented and maintained for 7 consecutive years from the effective date of the appointment. Failure to maintain residency may result in forfeit of employment.
