Senior Embedded / Flight Software Engineer Lanham, Maryland (Hybrid – 2/3 days onsite)
We are supporting a growing space technology company that is expanding its US engineering team and looking to hire a Senior Embedded / Flight Software Engineer.
This role will focus on developing embedded software for systems that operate in demanding, mission critical environments. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to build and integrate software that directly interfaces with hardware and spacecraft subsystems.
The team is looking for an engineer who can work independently, take ownership of technical problems, and contribute to the development of complex embedded platforms from design through integration and testing.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop embedded software using C++
- Integrate software with hardware platforms and microcontrollers
- Debug and test systems using laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analysers
- Support development of build systems for embedded environments
- Collaborate with cross functional teams across software, hardware, and systems engineering
- 5–10 years of experience in embedded software development
- Strong C++ experience within embedded environments
- Experience working with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes or logic analysers
- Experience developing embedded systems end to end
- Exposure to FPGA development or hardware level design
- Must be a US Citizen
- Experience with STM
32 microcontrollers - Experience building or maintaining embedded build systems
