Software Engineer

Talascend is currently seeking a Software Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Washington, District Of Columbia
.

This role is responsible for performing the software engineering function, including the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products.

• Software requirements analysis
• Analysis of hardware compatibility
• Development of software products and tools used for design, development and maintenance of infrastructure and platforms
• Works independently to achieve day‑to‑day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables
• Responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area
• Typically responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower‑level technical staff
• Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts
• Communicates with internal and client project team members
• Works to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches

• Typically requires BS and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience
• Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience

• Applies appropriate principles, standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the software development life cycle
• Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge
• Requires deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain
• Has broad understanding of other related specialty areas
