We are seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join a leading federal healthcare organization supporting mission-critical applications. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who is passionate about building scalable automation solutions, improving software quality, and collaborating closely with developers in a CI/CD-driven environment.
You will play a key role in developing reusable automation frameworks, supporting testing initiatives across multiple scopes, and contributing to reliable, high-quality software delivery that directly impacts federal healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Support the design and development of scalable automation frameworks that are maintainable and reusable across teams
- Write and maintain reusable libraries, utilities, and automation scripts to improve engineering efficiency
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and Dev Ops teams to enhance product quality and resolve defects through root cause analysis
- Assist in integrating testing and automation tools within CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and consistent deployments
- Contribute to functional, integration, performance, and security testing efforts across applications
- Help optimize test stages within CI/CD workflows to improve pipeline stability and test reliability
- Follow coding best practices and participate in code reviews to support a strong engineering culture
- Evaluate new tools and technologies and provide recommendations for improving automation and testing processes
- 1–3 years of experience in Software Engineering, QA Automation, or related development role
- Basic understanding of automation frameworks and software testing principles
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts (Jenkins, Git Lab, Azure Dev Ops, etc.)
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a collaborative team setting
- Exposure to test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
- Knowledge of REST APIs and basic integration testing
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Experience in healthcare, federal, or regulated environments is a plus
- Understanding of software quality, test reliability, and debugging practices
