About The Platform Team

This is an internal engineering role focused on building platform capabilities for our software engineers. The team owns CI/CD, infrastructure, automation, and developer tooling that improve how services are built, tested, deployed, and operated s is not a product or platform management role.

The Role

We’re looking for a Tech Lead Manager to lead our Platform Engineering team. This role combines hands‑on platform engineering expertise with people management responsibilities, ensuring our internal developer platform, CI/CD systems, and engineering automation are designed and built to support internal software engineers at scale.

You’ll join an early‑stage Platform Engineering team and help shape an internal developer platform from its foundational stages, with significant ownership and influence to set direction, define standards, and build systems that impact engineering, security, and operations across the company. This role enables dozens of engineers to build and ship software more easily, reliably, and enjoyably at scale!

The Team

The Platform Engineering team sits at the crossroads of Security, Operations, and Software Engineering, building and maintaining the foundational systems that other engineering teams rely on to ship high‑quality software quickly and reliably. We own the internal developer platform (IDP), CI/CD, shared tooling, and core automation that reduce friction and surprises so product teams can focus on delivering features instead of fighting infrastructure, pipelines, or yak‑shaving tasks.

You Will

• Design and maintain scalable CI/CD systems, self‑service workflows, and platform capabilities that support our engineering organization.

• Lead and develop a team of 2‑4 Platform Engineers through 1:1s, mentoring, goal‑setting, and performance management.

• Own technical architecture decisions for platform systems by designing solutions that balance developer experience, reliability, and operational simplicity.

• Partner with engineering leadership and cross‑functional teams to drive platform adoption and embed security, reliability, and compliance into workflows.

• Drive hiring efforts by refining candidate profiles, interview rubrics, and ensuring assessments validate real‑world platform engineering skills.

• Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement where engineers are empowered to propose and drive solutions.

• Ensure operational health of platform systems through incident response practices, SLAs, and systematic technical debt reduction.

• Champion standardization by establishing golden paths for infrastructure‑as‑code, containerization, and observability.

• Automate! Aim to automate as much as possible so engineers can focus on building - not maintaining or doing tedious manual work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Platform Engineering, Dev Ops, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.

• 2+ years of experience as a tech lead or team lead, engineering manager, or Tech Lead Manager for infrastructure/platform/Engineering teams, or clear evidence of leading complex platform initiatives and mentoring engineers.

• Strong practical experience with CI/CD tooling (Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, Circle
