Microsoft Access Developer

Our client is seeking a Software Developer with Microsoft Access experience to maintain and enhance multiple applications. The Software Developer will be fluent in VBA and Microsoft Access application (front-end and back-end) development, and have experience in working with Microsoft SQL Server and .NET. The Software Developer will be responsible for working directly with business stakeholders to elicit and document requirements, evaluate existing system architecture, make recommendations for future system architecture, and participate in software development activities.

Ability for the Software Developer to interact with the client face-to-face and remotely is paramount for this role.

Responsibilities:

? Troubleshooting code, queries, and stored procedures
? Design enhancements to existing applications
? Design new capabilities that integrate with existing applications
? Produce system architecture and system design specifications
? Elicit, translate, and document client requirements
? Conduct application architecture assessments
? Perform software code reviews
? Maintain existing applications
? Achieve compliance with coding, data and user interface standards (including Section 508 compliance)

Requirements:

? 5+ years of experience as a software developer in Microsoft (Access, VBA, .Net) based environment
? 3+ years of experience architecting, designing, and developing MS Access applications
? Knowledge and experience of relational databases and SQL, preferably MS SQL Server
? BS Computer Science or equivalent work experience
? Strong oral and written communication skills
? Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in dynamic client environments
? Experience in distributed, team-oriented, project environments

Experience with using the internet (IRC, email, web whiteboards, VoIP) as a primary form of communication with teammates and client
? Demonstrated ability to successfully complete client projects
? Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and/or pass a background investigation
? Candidates must be able to work at client sites located in Quantico, VA or Alexandria, VA
? Ideal candidates will also have hands-on experience with .Net (C# or ) and MS SQL Server
