Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
LHH is seeking a Geotechnical Instrumentation Technician to support ongoing and upcoming field installations for our client in the Washington DC and Baltimore region. This is a hands‑on, field‑based position responsible for installing, maintaining, and decommissioning geotechnical instrumentation systems on active construction sites. The ideal candidate thrives in outdoor, physical work environments, brings mechanical aptitude and reliability to every project, and is comfortable working at heights or in dynamic site conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform installation, calibration, and maintenance of geotechnical sensors, prisms, and related monitoring equipment on active construction and infrastructure sites.
- Conduct manual readings, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure system reliability through detailed reporting and quality checks.
- Assist in preparing tools, materials, and equipment ahead of installation activities, and maintain organized field documentation.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and site supervisors to align installation work with project schedules and specifications.
- Support decommissioning activities and ensure all fieldwork adheres to strict safety and quality standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade training preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in low‑voltage electrical installation, commercial construction, HVAC installation, or related field‑based work.
- Comfortable using power tools, following technical diagrams, and working at heights using ladders or man lifts.
- OSHA 10 certification required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean background check required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, adaptability, and commitment to safe, high-quality field execution.
- Salary range: $75,000 – $85,000, commensurate with experience.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage and paid travel expenses (gas, lodging, meals).
- Company‑provided tools, PPE, and equipment (except personal work boots).
- Travel within the NCR region (DC, Maryland, Virginia) up to 10–15%; potential to increase with future project growth.
- Standard schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. - 100% field‑based role with project sites primarily in the Washington DC area.
- Reports to the Installation Supervisor and works as part of a two‑person field team.
