Job Description

Building Infrastructure Group, Inc. (BIG) is an industry leader in Structured Cabling Systems (SCS) and Audio/Visual (AV) Systems in the Mid‑Atlantic region. BIG is known for its employee‑centric culture, emphasizing engagement, autonomy, and creativity.

We are hiring technicians to install low‑voltage systems—voice and data infrastructure and AV—across the Baltimore & D.C. Metro area, covering new commercial construction and occupied office spaces.

Responsibilities
  • Installation of low‑voltage communication cabling systems – copper, fiber optics, coaxial cables, and AV cabling.
  • Build‑out of telecommunication closets, including equipment racks, cabinets, ladder racking systems, patch panels, and AV equipment & devices.
  • Testing, labeling, and certification of new cable installations and AV equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience installing low‑voltage communication cabling systems in commercial and government facilities.
  • Proficient in installing, terminating, and testing copper and fiber cables.
  • Professional, team‑oriented work ethic; willingness to learn.
  • Adherence to regular attendance and normal schedule hours; willing to work overtime, often on short notice.
  • Familiarity and ability to work with various hand tools.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation to travel between client job sites in and around the D.C. Metro area.
  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment screening process that includes background investigation, drug screen, and acceptable driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to client requirements.
Schedule
  • Monday to Friday (start times as early as 4 a.m.)
  • Flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • Overtime based on business needs.
  • Weekends based on business needs.
License/Certification
  • Valid driver’s license (required) & reliable transportation.
Work Location

Traveling in and around the Baltimore & D.C. Metro area.
