Senior Installation Technician w​/TS​/SCI CI Poly

Overview

Tek Synap is seeking a Senior Installation Technician to join our team supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency. The role is responsible for installing equipment and supervising the work of other technicians, maintaining systems, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with industry best practices.

• Install, document, and maintain inside‑plant cable infrastructure (conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber).
• Supervise the installation and assembly work of other technicians.
• Maintain equipment, systems, and conduct testing and troubleshooting independently.
• Investigate equipment and system failures to determine causes and repair required.
• Interpret service orders, circuit diagrams, floor plans, and networking logic diagrams.
• Test, locate, install, and repair cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls and perform routine maintenance.
• Use Excel and Microsoft Word to record data, create, and maintain cable records.
• Verify installed cabling by testing, correcting, or escalating problems.
• Work with hand tools, power tools, and ladders to terminate and test cables and components.

• Active TS/SCI clearance with C.I. Poly.
• 5+ years of hands‑on IT experience deploying and maintaining global networks and systems.
• Proficiency in cable testing equipment, fiber OTDRs, and fiber power meters.
• Knowledge of ICD 503, DCID 6/3, DIA‑CAP, and NIST standards.
• Experience in transitioning applications to IC Information Technology Environment (ITE).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with supervisors and teammates.

Location:

District of Columbia. Typical work hours: 8‑hour days, 40‑hour weeks (0600‑1800, Monday‑Friday). May be required to work evenings and weekends to meet program needs. Travel: 20%. Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
