Starting pay $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, full-time hourly position. $3,000 Sign On Bonus!
The Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand's Compression Systems and Services Division serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment. Knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment is required.
Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed air equipment and address customer concerns.
- Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies needed for installations and repairs.
- Assist and train apprentices and Field Service Technicians.
- Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers, verbally and in writing.
- Provide technical assistance on pre-commissioning, start-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems, including hands-on work to meet customer requirements with limited guidance from the Master Technician.
- Increase customer awareness of Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions (e.g., Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits, and Leak Detection) and their benefits.
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
- Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major traffic violations (e.g., DUI within 5 years, hit & run, license suspension, reckless driving) in the past 3 years.
- On-call required for technicians, with a 90-day initial period not being on-call to acclimate to the schedule; on-call weeks can occur roughly every 4 weeks or more, as determined by the hiring manager.
- Physically demanding role requiring frequent use of hands, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting/moving weight per safety policy.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read wiring schematics and diagrams for equipment.
- Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).
- Basic vibration troubleshooting.
- Basic air quality knowledge (system compressor/dryer – air treatment).
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer usage; proficiency with handheld devices and network bases.
- Maintain cost-efficient business travel practices.
- Industrial air compressor maintenance & knowledge.
- EPA Certification.
- Veterans/Active-Duty Military are encouraged to apply.
- Travel daily within a 3-hour radius of service area.
