Aerotek is currently hiring for a Facilities Technician in Washington D.C.!

IMPORTANT NOTE - This role requires you to work outside 90% of the time. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors.

Job Description

Join our maintenance team in Washington, DC, as a Maintenance Technician, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the upkeep of the Union Station garage. You will work on the 1st shift from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, ensuring the facility is functional and well-maintained.

Responsibilities
  • Change light bulbs and perform electrical repairs, focusing on ballasts.
  • Paint bathrooms, offices, parking lines, walls, and other areas as needed.
  • Replace doorknobs and locks, and hang items.
  • Clean up spills, with a focus on oil spills.
  • Complete daily work order lists and update supervisors on task status.
  • Conduct general maintenance checks on equipment, including tire pressure and battery charging.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
  • Perform plumbing tasks, such as unclogging toilets.
  • Walk the facility to identify maintenance needs and collaborate with quality assurance to improve the facility.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
Essential Skills
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Weekend availability, potentially working Friday through Sunday.
  • Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to change ballasts and use hand tools.
  • Experience in electrical, plumbing, and parking garage maintenance.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and preventive maintenance.
  • 4+ years of maintenance experience.
  • 1+ years of experience working in different weather conditions.
  • Ability to multitask and manage work orders.

Work

Environment

You will work in the Union Station garage, spending about 8 hours a day on your feet in an open‑air environment. The facility is not air‑conditioned or heated, so expect to work in various weather conditions. The typical shift runs from Sunday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
