Overview
The Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of a crew of technicians, apprentices, and laborers on a job site. The role involves ensuring that all work installed is completed on time, within budget, and according to all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Managing mid-sized to large projects with 15 or more personnel
- Consulting with management, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction issues
- Scheduling projects to meet deadlines within budget
- Determining labor needs and dispatching workers accordingly
- Planning, organizing, and overseeing construction activities
- Interpreting plans and contract terms for staff, workers, and clients
- Negotiating and preparing contracts with architects, clients, and suppliers
- Supervising and delegating responsibilities to workers and mentoring junior technicians
- Monitoring project budgets for profitability
- Ensuring compliance with safety and building codes through inspections
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years in the electrical industry, including 2 years as a project foreman
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience with management systems like scheduling, job costing, and safety documentation
- Proven leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and possess own tools
- Valid driver's license with acceptable record; ability to pass background check
Abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Comfort working at heights up to 60 feet and on scaffolds or ladders
- Good vision and communication skills in English
- Ability to recognize problems and apply general rules for solutions
- Physical stamina for routine tasks

- Competitive salary: USD $48.00 - USD $63.00 per hour
