Overview

The Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of a crew of technicians, apprentices, and laborers on a job site. The role involves ensuring that all work installed is completed on time, within budget, and according to all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Managing mid-sized to large projects with 15 or more personnel
• Consulting with management, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction issues
• Scheduling projects to meet deadlines within budget
• Determining labor needs and dispatching workers accordingly
• Planning, organizing, and overseeing construction activities
• Interpreting plans and contract terms for staff, workers, and clients
• Negotiating and preparing contracts with architects, clients, and suppliers
• Supervising and delegating responsibilities to workers and mentoring junior technicians
• Monitoring project budgets for profitability
• Ensuring compliance with safety and building codes through inspections

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in the electrical industry, including 2 years as a project foreman
• High School diploma or GED
• Experience with management systems like scheduling, job costing, and safety documentation
• Proven leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and possess own tools
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; ability to pass background check

Abilities

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Comfort working at heights up to 60 feet and on scaffolds or ladders
• Good vision and communication skills in English
• Ability to recognize problems and apply general rules for solutions
• Physical stamina for routine tasks

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive salary: USD $48.00 - USD $63.00 per hour
