This position is part of the Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence, Department of Energy. As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will be providing innovative cyber‑centric intelligence support to the Department of Energy and the Nation's critical energy infrastructure. This mission includes providing Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, capabilities and technical support to the DOE Intelligence and Counterintelligence workforce.
Important InformationThis is an Excepted Service position. This appointment will not confer Competitive Service career‑conditional or career tenure status. This means that if you are selected, you would have to compete with other applicants in open competition to meet requirements for another Federal position, unless you meet the requirements for reinstatement.
As a GS-15 Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
Requirements- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.

- If selected, your appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- This position is not remote, the selectee will be expected to report to the duty station(s) listed. If selected, military spouses, veteran caregivers, and spouses of foreign service employees may be eligible for applicable workplace flexibilities.
- May be required to successfully complete a 1-year supervisory probationary period.
- This position has been designated as Special‑Sensitive (High Risk) and requires a security clearance at the Q level. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain this clearance; failure to do so may result in separation from federal service.
- Must obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance prior to entrance on duty; failure to do so may result in separation from federal service.
- Must successfully complete an initial Counterintelligence (CI) evaluation and on a recurring basis, which may include a CI‑scope polygraph examination.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing thereafter. Failure to test or a positive result on random drug tests conducted after appointment may result in removal from Federal employment.
- You are required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually (5
CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08). - This position is not included in a Bargaining Unit.
- Hiring incentives may be authorized for a highly qualified candidate based on budget availability and in accordance with federal regulations.
- New supervisors are required to attend 80 hours of supervisory training, of which 40 hours must be completed during your first year as a supervisor.
