About the project:
The selected candidate will be involved in all phases of the physical and electronic security aspects of the Corporate Security program.
The Electronic Security Technologist will be responsible for assisting in security vulnerability assessments, physical and electronic security design reviews, following up and assisting during the construction and implementation of the security design, and will be responsible for system acceptance testing and validation. The Electronic Security Specialist must communicate proficiently both verbally and in writing. The Electronic Security Specialist role is primarily an individual contributor who excels while working in a cross-matrix environment and who possesses excellent communications and relationship management skills.
The primary work locations are the Corporate Security offices in Washington, D.C. (80-90%), with limited work being performed in the field (10-20%). While in the field, the Electronic Security Specialist is expected to wear all required PPE and adhere to safety policies, regulations and other requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ten (10) or more years of professional experience in the design, review, and application of physical and electronic security systems for two or more of the following sectors involving new construction, redevelopment, and renovation (Commercial Office, Industrial, Transportation Systems, Transportation Infrastructure).
Ten (10) or more years of professional experience creating detailed functional designs and associated Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) that leverage the following risk mitigation techniques (Video Surveillance, Physical Access Control, Portal-based Intrusion Detection, Wide-area Perimeter Intrusion Detection, Active Deterrents, Physical Barriers, and Psychological Barriers).
Must Have:
Current PSP or CPP certification from the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International)
Current Crime Prevention through Environmental Design Professional Designation (CPD) certification from the National Institute of Crime Prevention (NICP)
Preferred Qualification
Certification from one or more IP surveillance camera (IP-CCTV) manufacturer:
Axis, Avigilon, Sony, Bosch, etc.
Certification from one or more Video Management System (VMS) manufacturer:
Avigilon, Genetec, Milestone, etc.
Certification from one or more Physical Access Control System (PACS) manufacturer:
Galaxy, Lenel/S2, Software House, etc.
Familiarity with state and national building and other codes related to physical and electronic security systems (NEC/NFPA 70, ADA, ICC, ASCE).
Familiarity with inter-city passenger rail operations, infrastructure, and pertinent safety and security regulations
People Skills
Strong interpersonal and time management skills
Proficiency in communicating financial information to various stakeholders and related technical staff
Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects
Maintain effective communication with the program manager, project managers, and team members.
Interacts well with other disciplines and clients in a manner that builds productive and trusted relationships
Excellent planning and organization skills are required for our demanding environment, and must be highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new duties.
