Summary
Bering Global Solutions, LLC is seeking qualified Armed Security Guards in Washington, DC. The position reports to the Program Manager working with the Department of Transportation and Federal Protective Service, responsible for protecting federally owned/leased facilities. Initially, hires are at Part-Time Variable-Hours status; after training and schedule placement, they transition to Full-Time-Regular status.
Qualifications - Experience, Education, and Certification
- SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED
- US citizen or Lawful Resident, current or honorable discharge from US armed forces, with a social security card
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education; or completion of 60 college credit hours; or graduation from a law enforcement training program
- Minimum of two years Security/LE experience or 2 years of honorable military service
- Minimum age 21; fluent in English
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to follow procedures and policies
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to analyze situations and escalate issues
- Ability to work independently or in small teams
- Physical ability to perform duties (sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, driving)
- Sensory abilities to respond to alarms and emergencies
- Proficiency with computers and security systems
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Guard/clearance card
- Gun/OC/Baton permit
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Additional Requirements
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Ability to obtain access to military installations and security permits
- Able to pass physical agility test and training

- Monitor and report activities and incidents
- Enforce site regulations
- Control access and monitor entrances/exits
- Patrol the site and respond to emergencies
- Secure evidence and prepare reports
