Ripple Effect is looking for a Human Subjects Research, Research Specialist with administrative support experience in biomedical human subjects research to support the client’s compliance assurance program at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In this role you will provide customer support and complete administrative review actions. You will also gather, update and manage information related to protocol reviews.

  • Salary Range: $47,869.34 - $52,000.00 per year (how we pay and promote)
Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and professional customer service and support by delivering accurate information, assistance, and documents to principal investigators, study team members, program manager, approval authorities and other DHS stakeholders.
  • Actively monitor a central inbox for new emails, prioritizing urgent or important messages for immediate attention; identify and upscale complex or sensitive emails to the appropriate POC for further handling.
  • Update and manage human research protocol files from intake and throughout the lifecycle and the information management systems used to track protocol review related data and other information.
  • Coordinate active backup of working materials to facilitate review of future actions by team members.
  • Contribute to the development of training and education materials.
  • Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience
  • BA/BS in a life science, biomedical, or related field
  • 2 years of relevant professional experience
Basic Requirements
  • Basic working knowledge of human subjects' protections, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Experience in maintaining and tracking data and progress of regulatory reviews with ability to organize work assignments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well with various individuals and collaborate across teams throughout a dynamic and diverse research enterprise.
  • Ability to prioritize among multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, relying on your own resources and initiative.
  • Strong skills in using MS Office software and shared work spaces such as SharePoint and One Drive.
  • Must work effectively in a team environment.

Skills That Set You Apart
  • Experience in supporting an IRB or human subjects protection office.
  • Experience as a government contractor, supporting biomedical or health research programs within DHS or other federal systems.
  • Available to travel locally, regionally, and/or nationally.
