Primary Care Sales Consultant – Washington, DC Purpose

Primary Care Sales Consultant (SC) is accountable for implementing the sales strategies for approved Cardiorenal products and for driving launch activities for an anticipated menopause launch. Responsibilities include driving demand, clinical education and sales by developing, coordinating, and implementing a strategic business plan for Primary Care Physicians, primarily in community settings. The position reports to the CVR Area General Manager (AGM) and will be an integral part of the Area Customer Squad, collaborating closely with Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, and other internal partners to drive US Pharma outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Build and develop professional relationships with primary care providers and pharmacy staff within assigned customers.
  • Drive appropriate utilization of approved CV and menopause products, working within the Customer Squad to generate pull-through with local payers and community HCPs.
  • Leverage expertise and knowledge of the diabetes and menopause marketplace, including competitors and cross‑functional plans, to anticipate and manage business opportunities and challenges.
  • Provide thoughtful input to commercial colleagues in regard to strategic and tactical planning for territory, area, and region.
  • Develop and implement customer‑specific business plans and communicate insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Prioritize time and effort to ensure optimal coverage of appropriate physician specialists based on opportunity and potential.
  • Understand fully the assigned customers’ product and business needs and work to meet those needs while adhering to Bayer's ethics and compliance standards.
  • Anticipate potential barriers to achievement of goals and propose responsible solutions for success.
  • Handle customer objections effectively, exceed expectations, and occasionally share exemplary skills in a training capacity.
  • Leverage emerging technologies to enhance performance, continually improving proficiency.
  • Understand and comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations, applying a high ethical standard daily.
Who You Are

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven track record of consistent high performance in a sales role or other relevant experience.
  • Proven track record in developing long‑standing relationships with customers.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to foster an environment that promotes ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Ability to comply with any customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., up‑to‑date vaccinations, trainings).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales.
  • In‑depth knowledge of cardiovascular, diabetes, and/or menopause disease states.
  • Product launch experience.
  • Strong analytical and computer capabilities.
  • Virtual sales experience.
  • Strong local relationships with HCPs and understanding of local market.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $ and $. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on location, market data, applicant’s skills and prior experience, degrees or certifications, and other relevant factors.
