The Sales Manager is a proactive, outbound sales professional responsible for generating, qualifying, and booking short-term, localized, internally sourced business for the Walter
E. Washington Convention Center. This role is regionally focused and dedicated to booking opportunities within 24 months that are directly sourced by Events DC and specific to the Convention Center.
The Sales Manager owns the full sales cycle for assigned opportunities from prospecting and outreach through negotiation, contracting, and internal handoff, and is expected to spend significant time out of the office, actively selling the Convention Center and the Events DC brand, conducting site inspections, attending local and regional events, and building relationships that convert directly into bookings.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Sales and works closely with internal Events DC departments to ensure successful execution.
