The pay for this position is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and is set at $17.95 per hour.
Job DescriptionWe have an opening for a part-time Garage Cashier. The Part-Time Garage Cashier provides courteous, efficient, and accurate service to patrons using the parking facility at [Studio Name]. As the first and last point of contact for many visitors, the cashier plays an important role in delivering a positive experience. This role includes handling payments, issuing tickets, and maintaining a clean and orderly cashier booth and garage environment.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patrons warmly and assist with entry and exit procedures.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) system to process parking fees (cash, credit/debit, vouchers, pre-paid passes, and mobile payments).
- Issue parking tickets and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Provide directions or basic information about the Center, performances, or nearby locations as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of cashier booth and/or general workspace.
- Communicate professionally with fellow staff, security, and patrons.
- Follow all company procedures related to cash handling and safety protocols.
- Report mechanical problems, safety hazards, or suspicious behavior to management.
- Assist with traffic flow during events or high-traffic times.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior cashier or customer service experience is a plus.
- Must have basic English skills.
- Comfortable handling money and operating payment systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to remain calm and courteous in fast-paced or stressful situations.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on performance/event schedules.
- Candidate must be local or willing to relocate to the DMV area. Relocation assistance is not provided.
- Candidate must be willing to work onsite.
- Work is performed primarily in a cashier booth or at the entrance/exit of a parking garage.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions may be required depending on assigned work location.
