We are currently looking to fill a full‑time, permanent position for a Sales Retail Store Specialist in our Sales Department at our Washington, DC facility.

What You’ll Do:

The Sales Retail Store Specialist is responsible for servicing and growing retail accounts within an assigned territory to ensure customer standards are met and sales performance objectives are achieved. This position plays a key role in maintaining strong partnerships with retail customers while effectively executing in‑store sales programs, merchandising initiatives, and promotional activities. The Specialist is expected to identify opportunities for growth, implement creative strategies to increase product visibility and sales, and uphold the company’s brand standards across all retail locations.

  • On the ground expert at Retail Stores in market area East of the Mississippi.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and communication with Produce Managers and store engagement in this market area.
  • Product expert specifically in tomatoes/peppers/cucumbers/lettuce/strawberries.
  • Relay information found in stores in market area East of the Mississippi to the Corporate Sales team.
  • Collect & report store‑level data including, pricing, inventory levels, promotions, competitive activity, etc.
  • Provide weekly reports summarizing visits
  • Gather store‑level feedback from store managers & shoppers, relay insights back to Sales and/or Marketing team
  • Act as liaison with Corporate Sales Team in Canada on direct market requests and initiatives to provide onsite assessment and commodity evaluation specific to region and retailer.
  • Participate in the planning an execution of cooperative marketing & retail programs.
  • Participate in‑store demo & merchandising setup including scheduling, with retail partners, in new product launches
  • Must comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures.

What You Bring:
  • On the ground experience at Retail Stores (Produce Managers & direct store engagement) in market area East of the Mississippi.
  • 2+ years' experience in Marketing and Sales in Produce industry with preference to tomatoes/peppers/cucumbers/strawberries/ lettuce.
  • Proficient in relaying/communicating information found in retail stores East of Mississippi to Sales Team and Retail buyers.
  • Experience with store audits with direct engagement with department operators which provides education on farming practice and proper storage and handling.
  • Experiencing with conducting assignments in respect to environmental and sustainability research and business studies.
  • Valid license and passport with the ability to travel to Canada and internationally as required.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Nav & Office software packages, including Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of key performance metrics.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills; proven ability to successfully manage tasks and projects independently; strong planning and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to be flexible and quickly re‑prioritize and react positively with short notice of changes
  • Ability to work competently with exceptional accuracy in a fast‑paced and highly dynamic environment that is challenging and constantly evolving
