The Mid-Atlantic Division has an opening for a Bakery Ops Manager. This is a backstage salary position, eligible for a bonus.
This position is a field role with up to 70% travel within and outside of the district. The Operations Specialist monitors, enforces, and supports execution of the division merchandising plan for their department in assigned stores. Train, coach, oversee and develop store teams within department.
The Operations Specialist position is in the Mid-Atlantic Division and involves working with store teams to execute merchandising plans, achieve sales, gross, and labor targets, and ensure policy compliance.
Responsibilities- Monitor, enforce, and support execution of the division merchandising plan for the assigned department in stores.
- Train, coach, oversee, and develop store teams within the department.
- Visit stores to evaluate overall department presentation, cleanliness, compliance, and program execution to company policy and procedures.
- Measure store-level performance through department sales, gross profit, and labor percentage.
- Execute plans and assess results through store visits, plan reviews, and observations of department conditions.
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs by reviewing evaluations.
- Provide work guidance to store associates in areas such as product knowledge, sales, and marketing techniques, and ensure understanding of profit and loss and compliance with company policies.
- Train department managers on the basics of the business and how to manage their department.
- Provide input to the Store Director on Store Department Manager performance.
A Day in Life
- Travels to assigned stores working with the Department Manager and staff to share merchandising plans for departments to meet sales, gross, and labor targets.
- Works with and counsels department Managers and Store Directors in all aspects of product merchandising and customer service.
- Visits stores to evaluate department presentation, cleanliness, compliance, and program execution to company policy and procedures.
- Measures store-level performance through department sales, gross profit, and labor percent.
- Executes plans and monitors results through store visits, reviews of results, and observations of store department conditions.
- Determines the success of training programs by reviewing evaluations.
- Provides guidance to store associates on product knowledge, sales, and marketing techniques, understanding of profit and loss, and policy compliance.
- Trains department managers in basics of the business and managing their department.
- Provides input to the Store Director on department manager performance.
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years in grocery retail with a strong understanding across the assigned department.
- Must possess previous Department Manager and Store Director experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Marketing orientation, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Mathematical skills to complete straightforward analysis.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate others without direct supervision.
Division-wide travel, up to 70%.

- The pay range is $80k to 95k, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates vary by location, experience, qualifications, and applicable collective bargaining agreement terms.
