We are hiring immediately for on‑call waiter/waitress positions at the restaurant at 655 Taylor Street, Washington, DC. This role is available to applicants who meet the requirement of one year of serving experience.
Schedule:
On‑call; days and hours vary based on business needs.
Pay Range: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour.
Internal employee referral bonus is available.
Responsibilities- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room; take food and beverages efficiently, following established service steps.
- Deliver food promptly and professionally; maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards, and follow up to assist with any additional needs or requests.
- Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients; advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations and accommodate reasonable requests and dietary preferences.
- Communicate directly with back‑of‑the‑house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, remain flexible and patient when interacting with guests and staff.
- Collect tickets and follow proper cash‑handling procedures.
- Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
- Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared.
- Promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to the supervisor.
- Ensure that the dining room is properly set up before and after service, keeping the area clean and meeting sanitation standards.
- Operate a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced‑tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
- Collaborate with staff from other departments to perform duties during special events and functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
