Location:
1 vacancy in Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC (Remote job). No Telework eligible. No Travel Required. Not required relocation expenses reimbursed.
This position will be assigned to Child Developmental Center 2. A regular part‑time position, guaranteed 20 hours per week. The role requires light to moderate physical effort, continuous standing and walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending, and lifting objects up to 40 lb.
DutiesThe Child and Youth Program Food Service Worker performs various tasks in food service preparation, including: peeling potatoes; cutting, sorting and washing vegetables and fruits; assembling sandwiches; measuring and weighing ingredients; stocking food service carts; wrapping, arranging, and packaging items; transporting food from kitchen area to classrooms or activity areas; returning carts, dishes and leftover food; washing pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and silverware;
cleaning serving carts, preparation areas, and dishwashing areas; operating the mechanical dishwasher; performing heavy‑duty cleaning tasks (ceilings, exhaust hoods, floors, walls, refrigerators and freezers, trash rooms); maintaining orderly work area; operating electrical equipment; labeling and dating items; unloading food and supplies; and complying with security, fire and sanitation rules. The worker also ensures compliance with USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) standards and serves as a mandatory reporter as required.

- Pre‑employment checks per Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation are required.
- Special inoculation and immunization requirements apply.
- Pre‑employment physical, immunizations, and communicable disease clearance are required.
- Food Handler’s Certificate and/or completion of food handler’s training is required.
Open to everyone. Applicants will be categorized by preference(s) or priority consideration eligibilities. Experience in food handling, sanitation, and communication is required. Education substitution is not allowed for this position.
