Job Description SummaryThe George Washington University Institute for Data, Democracy and Politics (IDDP) seeks exceptional candidates for a full-time, academic research position at the rank of post‑doctoral fellow. The mission of IDDP is to help society understand critical challenges that arise at the intersection of digital technology, media, and democracy, informing sound policy solutions. This one‑year appointment, with a possibility to extend, is located at GW’s Foggy Bottom campus in Washington, DC, and reports to Dr.
Ethan Porter, Co‑Faculty Director.
- Plan and conduct independent research aligned with IDDP’s mission, focusing on misinformation, persuasion, and political psychology.
- Design, conduct, and analyze behavioral social science experiments using advanced analytic tools.
- Write and publish research findings; represent the university at conferences and meetings.
- Lead and supervise research assistants and other staff as needed.
- PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, obtained by the date of employment.
- Expertise in behavioral approaches to social science, including design and analysis of experiments.
- Proficiency in R, Python, or similar analytical tools.
- Experience in misinformation, persuasion, and political psychology research.
$70,000–$80,000
