Description
The Lickley Lab at Georgetown University is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The candidate will work with Prof. Megan Lickley to model the global production, emissions, and storage (“banks”) of highly potent greenhouse gases regulated under the Montreal Protocol. The role involves quantitative modeling to inform environmental policy, contributing to collaborative projects, and advancing professional goals. The position is based in Washington, D.C. for a 1-3 year appointment and can start on a mutually agreed date.
Salary range: $65-72K/year with additional support for professional development.
Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will:
- Develop and run quantitative models of greenhouse gas production, emissions, and storage.
- Analyze model outputs to support policy discussions and project collaborations.
- Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
Qualifications
– Ph.D. in atmospheric science, Earth system modeling, or related field. – Strong background in quantitative modeling, data analysis, and programming (Python, MATLAB, etc.). – Excellent written and oral communication skills.
