Overview
The Massive Data Institute (MDI) and the Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM) seek a postdoctoral fellow to join a project that focuses on using social media data to develop indicators of forced migration. The project is co-led by Sonneborn Chairs Lisa Singh, Ph.D. (Department of Computer Science and Public Policy), Katharine Donato, Ph.D. (School of Foreign Service and Department of Sociology), and Ali Arab, Ph.D. (Department of Mathematics & Statistics).
Applicants should have a PhD in any relevant social science disciplines, computer/data science, or other related fields. The postdoctoral fellow will be housed at both MDI and ISIM.
- Be part of a cross-institute collaboration between MDI and ISIM and contribute to project activities.
- Collaborate with Professors Singh, Donato, and Arab in analyzing data, including social media data, to develop indicators of forced migration.
- Write and publish research papers based on analyses and findings.
- Meet with interested colleagues and students to discuss research and progress.
- Mentor junior scholars as part of the research team.
- PhD in any relevant social science disciplines, computer/data science, or other related fields.
