SUMMARY: We are looking for a self-motivated and personable full-time Quality Assurance Technician. The Quality Assurance Technician tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain the reliability of products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to those listed in the Summary section above, the following are duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position.

  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical, electrical or chemical characteristics.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from exiting standards.
  • Recommends modifications of exiting quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics.
  • Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
  • Performs prescribed procedures in accordance with plant quality system requirements.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Daily/Weekly availability for overtime.
  • Crosstrain in other positions within the facility based on business needs.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak English effectively to management and employees of organization.
  • Technical math required.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule from.
  • Certified to guidelines of ASNT-TC-1A.
  • Able to regularly stand and walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, and occasionally sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, and plant environments. The work environment will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
