The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for National Capital Parks-East isApril-January, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty:
Beginning of April.
There are Three Vacancies for this position.
- Work at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardensto prepare soil beds, turf, flower gardens, hedges, walkways, garden fixtures, and planting areas.
- Conduct soil tests; correct deficiencies with appropriate amendments.
- Recommend plants for shade, boundaries, ground cover, erosion control, or appearance; slope/plant terraces; sod steep banks.
- Prune shrubs/trees to reduce risk, maintain health, and meet operational needs; calculate seed rates.
- Assess cultural landscape features; diagnose insect/disease/cultural pressures; recommend/apply control measures consistent with regulations.
