Key Bridge Boathouse is seeking counselors for its summer day camp, Monday through Friday June–August. Counselors will lead youth ages 9–14 with kayak and other water activities, supervising water to ensure safe operations and teaching beginning and intermediate boating skills to campers and junior staff.
Compensation
: $17.95 hourly.
- Teach beginning and intermediate boating skills
- Lead games and activities
- Lead/teach groups of children
- Supervise children ages 9–14
- Supervise on-the-water activities
- Work weekday hours (weekend hours may also be required)
- Other duties as required
- Customer Service and Leadership skills
- Intermediate knowledge of boating such as kayaking, sailing etc.
- Red Cross CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard or Equivalent Required (Can be trained when hired)
- 1 year teaching experience with at least one type of boating discipline such as sailing, kayaking, SUP, or canoeing preferred.
- USSailing, ACA Certifications preferred
- Basic proficiency in speaking Spanish preferred
Moderately physically demanding, medium level of physical fitness. Standing >2 hours, 80%; lifting >20 lbs, 30%; twisting, 10%; kneeling, 10%; swimming, 1%; squatting, 10%.
