Animal Care Technician – Division of Comparative Medicine
Georgetown University’s Division of Comparative Medicine seeks an Animal Care Technician to support laboratory animal husbandry in support of research initiatives. The technician performs daily husbandry for laboratory animals, including handling, feeding, watering, cage changes, and health monitoring in accordance with standard operating procedures and applicable regulations. The role may involve cage wash, autoclave operation, and area sanitization.
Responsibilities- Daily animal husbandry, including handling, feeding, watering, cage change, and health monitoring.
- Follow standard operating procedures and maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and biosafety protocols.
- Assist with cage wash, autoclave operation, and sanitization of areas and equipment.
- Collaborate with animal care technicians, veterinary technicians, veterinarians, and research faculty and staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience working with laboratory animals and AALAS certification.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in hot, steamy, and animal odor environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Pay Range$17.95 – $26.84 hourly
