Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license and expertise with Cerner and NIHSS.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital medical/surgical telemetry unit
- Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week
- Patient population includes adults requiring med/surg and telemetry care
- Department 6204 assignment
- Cerner is the electronic medical record system used and prior experience is required
- Provide comprehensive assessment and nursing care to adult med/surg and telemetry patients
- Perform both initial and ongoing patient assessments with proper documentation
- Position requires efficient, compassionate patient care delivery, interpreting patient needs, and coordinating with interdisciplinary team members
- Two manager or supervisor references from the last 12 months are preferred, with at least one from the most recent employer
- COVID and Flu vaccination documentation may be required
- Dress code and orientation details will be provided upon assignment
- Holiday coverage may be expected as part of the rotation
- Active DC RN license is required at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience in a US hospital
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA are required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- CPI certification is required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly desired
- Experience with Cerner EMR is required
- Must have a US Social Security Number
- Applicants must live at least 25 miles from the facility
