Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit position requiring DC licensure, cardiac telemetry experience, and advanced certifications.

Job Details

• Work in a 48-bed cardiac focused stepdown/progressive care unit within a hospital setting,

• Unit includes 4 pulmonary care beds and 10 cardiac surgery beds (travelers are not required to take cardiac surgery patients),

• Patient population includes cardiac stepdown, pulmonary, and post-vascular surgery patients,

• Frequent IV drips administered include Heparin, Milrinone, Lasix, and Bumex,

• Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure (CHF), NSTEMI, arrhythmias, and vascular surgery cases,

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week,

• Uses Cerner EMR-experience required,

• No floating to ICU or ED noted,

Job Requirements

• Active DC RN license required, no pending licenses accepted,

• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required (AHA only),

• CPI certification mandated by position,

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required,

• At least two years of US hospital RN experience in cardiac telemetry required,

• At least two years of cardiac telemetry experience required,

• Cerner charting experience required,

• BSN highly desired,

• Must live at least 25 miles from facility,

• US Social Security Number required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide specialized care to patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary needs in a stepdown environment,

• Must be prepared to manage IV medication infusions frequently used with cardiac stepdown patients,

• At least two professional references, with one from the most recent supervisor, preferred for job consideration,

• COVID and flu vaccinations may be required according to facility protocols,

• First-time travelers will be considered,

• Scrub color requirements not specified,
