Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide skilled nursing care, focusing on pediatric patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) and pre-testing environments. The role involves direct patient care, monitoring, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and well-being. A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience is required.

Responsibilities:

- Provide skilled nursing care to pediatric patients in the PACU and pre-testing areas.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition post-anesthesia.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients and their families.
- Perform patient assessments.
- Participate in treatment planning.

Required Skills &

Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license in Washington D.C. (or proof of pending application submitted 3-4 weeks prior).
- 2-3 years of experience in Pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Pre-Testing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Special Considerations:

- No on-call responsibilities.
- Missed shifts due to call-outs must be made up at the end of the contract.
- Modules are required to be completed within the first week of the assignment.
- No exemptions accepted.

Scheduling:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday, with a varying day off.
- Variable shift start times between 6:00 AM and 11:00 AM (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM, 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM).
- No weekends or holidays.
