Registered Nurse RN Mom and Baby Postpartum

Med Star Health is looking for a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive peri‑postpartum nursing care to mothers and newborns. The RN will deliver proficient nursing care, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and support families during the postpartum period.

• Assess, monitor, and plan care for postpartum patients and families.
• Collaborate with nurse leaders and interdisciplinary team to develop standards of care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
• Advocate for patient needs and communicate clinical concerns promptly.
• Coordinate complex care and support patient safety goals.
• Participate in orientation and in‑service education for new staff.
• Contribute to unit management, quality improvement, and clinical evaluations.
• Act as a primary or associate nurse according to the Contemporary Primary Nursing model.

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required;
  Bachelor’s preferred.
• Enrollment in a BSN program within 12 months of hire if entering at associate level.
• Prior clinical nursing experience preferred.
• RN license in the District of Columbia or compact licensure.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Additional specialty certifications may be required.
• EFM certification required for perinatal nurses within 12 months of hire.

USD 40.17 – USD 88.17 per hour.
