Overview
The Johns Hopkins Hospital Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) is a 32 bed adult surgical intermediate care unit. The patient population consists of critically ill pre and post-op patients that will undergo or have undergone cardiac surgical interventions including, but not limited to, coronary artery bypass, valve replacements and repairs, Type A aortic dissections and heart or lung transplantation.

Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in the CVPCU including assessment, diagnosis, and management of postoperative cardiovascular patients.
- Perform invasive procedures, including but not limited to central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube removal and pacer wire removal.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients in the CVPCU.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment options, and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to enhance patient care and outcomes in the CVPCU.
- Master s degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Active, unrestricted ACNP or PA-C license and certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in critical care, preferably in a cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit.
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: Minimum 55.81/hour - Maximum 86.51/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
