Role Summary

This Nurse Manager ensures the highest standards of medical care within Gaudenzia, Inc.’s treatment programs. The Nurse Manager manages overall operations of the medical department, coordinates nursing staff, oversees day‑to‑day operations, and collaborates with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure consistency in adhering to and promoting Gaudenzia’s treatment model, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with medication handling and administration policies and local and state regulations.
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure the quality of counseling and education of clients on disease concept, HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, mental health, etc.
  • Promote, educate, and assist in the facilitation of medication‑assisted treatment (MAT).
  • Oversee medical documentation/electronic health record (EHR) usage.
  • Provide effective leadership to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Supervise and evaluate nursing personnel, provide feedback, and implement training programs as needed.
  • Foster professional growth and development through mentoring and continuing education opportunities.
  • Recruit, train, and maintain quality nursing staff.
  • Ensure adherence to established clinical protocols, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor patient care activities to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Manage staffing schedules for adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
  • Oversee procurement and maintenance of necessary equipment, supplies, and medications.
  • Participate in budget planning and financial management activities for the nursing department.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and implement best practices.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to patient care outcomes, patient satisfaction, and staff productivity.
  • Implement strategies to address deficiencies and enhance overall quality of care.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, and other healthcare disciplines, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate patient care and address patient‑related concerns.
  • Communicate with patients and their families to ensure understanding of treatment plans.
  • Ensure nursing staff follow required documentation guidelines within the required timeframe.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison with external stakeholders to uphold exceptional patient care standards.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or designee.
  • Required to work one weekend and one off shift per month to ensure contact with all medical staff.
  • Will be required to work during staffing shortages and holidays as necessary.
  • This position is deemed essential and will be required to work during inclement weather conditions.
Qualifications
  • Degree from an accredited college or university’s professional nursing program.
  • Current RN license in good standing for the applicable state.
  • Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, with 1 year treating individuals with substance use, mental health, or other related disorders.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a charge nurse or supervising health care worker(s).
  • May substitute BSN for 1 year of nursing experience and MSN for 2 years of nursing experience and 1 year of charge nurse or supervisory experience.
