OR RN Registered Nurse – Surgery, Full Time
The George Washington University Hospital is a 395-bed academic medical center located in Washington, D.C., in partnership with the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Our nurses play a vital role in shaping the patient experience, contributing to research, and driving improvements in care outcomes.
Responsibilities- Circulate or scrub for surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Perform pre-op assessments and intra-op monitoring
- Maintain aseptic techniques and enforce infection control policies
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs
- Document patient status and surgical events accurately and in real time
- Provide emotional support to patients and families pre- and post-procedure
- Participate in staff training and continuous improvement initiatives

- Current DC RN license (or eligible for DC licensure)
- BLS and ACLS (must be AHA-certified)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the Operating Room or Perioperative setting
- CNOR certification
- Experience in trauma or high-acuity surgical environments
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
