The 6 North unit is a 42 bed multi-specialty area committed to being the innovative leader in Neuroscience, Orthopedic and Trauma services. Our unit is equipped with advanced monitoring devices and perfected with an environment conducive to healing. We take pride in being a Comprehensive Stroke Unit and a Level 4 Epilepsy unit, the highest levels that can be attained.
Job SummaryThe Neuro Ortho Manager is responsible for the operational management and strategic planning of the department. This leadership role ensures high-quality care, compliance with regulatory standards, and operational efficiency to meet the needs of our patients, staff, and community.
Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day operations, including staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision to nursing staff to maintain clinical excellence.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with clinical protocols, policies, and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a liaison between staff, patients, families, and hospital leadership, ensuring effective communication.
- Identify and address operational or clinical issues promptly to enhance patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to the department’s strategic objectives.
- Education
:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Licensure
:
Current RN license or eligibility to practice in the District of Columbia. - Experience
:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience that demonstrates a progressive leadership background. Hospital background, preferably in an acute care or urban setting. - Certifications
:
Certification in specialty preferred - Skills
:
Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
