Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with an active DC RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for a 13-week assignment in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital operating room environment
- Responsibilities include both scrubbing and circulating during operative procedures
- Assignment length is 13 weeks with 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
- Care provided for a variety of surgical patients
- Expected to assemble and verify equipment and supplies before procedures
- Nurse is responsible for adhering to aseptic techniques and standards
- Duties include preparing the OR, ensuring proper equipment function, and maintaining supply readiness
- Collaborates with surgical team to assess, plan, and implement intraoperative care plans
- Acts as a liaison for patients, families, and the surgical team
- Travelers must live at least 25 miles from the hospital
- BSN is highly desired but not required
- Facility adheres to strict documentation requirements for certification copies
- Active DC RN license required at time of consideration; no pending licenses allowed
- Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- Minimum 3 years of operating room RN experience required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- At least 2 years of recent experience in a US hospital in the specialty required
- CPI certification mandated for this position
- Two professional references preferred, with at least one from a recent employer
- Candidate must have a valid US Social Security Number
